RON PATTERSON is Executive Vice President and co-founder of MMV Financial Inc.  

As EVP, Ron is responsible for all aspects of MMV’s business.  His prime focus is to build and develop MMV’s loan origination and underwriting capabilities.  In this context he is regularly traveling throughout North America meeting with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.  Ron plays a hands-on role with his colleagues in structuring loans, completing due diligence and actively engaging with portfolio companies post closing.  

Ron has been in the investment business since 1989 and has almost 18 years of experience in technology finance. Ron's wide range of experience includes directly sourcing and structuring debt financing to over 75 companies in both the technology and life sciences sectors. Ron has also worked extensively with senior management teams of technology companies at all stages of development.  This includes fund raising, developing corporate and sales strategy, human resources, and negotiating M&A transactions.  Through this period Ron has built an extensive network of relationships in both Canada and the US.

Ron joined MMV’s predecessor Company, MM Venture Partners, in March of 1999, six months after inception.  Prior to joining MM Ventures, Ron was a Partner at Quorum Funding Corporation, a top technology focused venture equity fund for over 5 years. Prior to Quorum, Ron spent 3 years in corporate finance at Gordon Capital Corporation, a leading Canadian investment bank based in Toronto. Ron joined Gordon after graduating with an Honours Business Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON.
