hris Marshall, General Counsel of MMV Financial Inc., is responsible for all legal aspects of the business and provides guidance in the development and implementation of effective corporate policies and strategies. Directly and through external counsel, Chris negotiates critical contracts pertaining to new investments and ongoing administrative and financial matters.

Chris has over twenty years of experience in the fixed-income investment environment in both legal and investment management roles. Most recently, Chris was a Financial Services Associate with Blake, Cassels and Graydon LLP, a full-service law firm with its headquarters in Toronto. His primary duties involved the documentation of syndicated lending transactions, acting for both borrowers and lenders. He was also active in structured finance and derivatives transactions.

Prior to obtaining his law degree and joining Blakes, Chris ran the Tokyo fixed-income trading operations of RBC Dominion Securities Inc. In such capacity, Chris was responsible for pricing bonds and money market securities for RBC DS's Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore offices, and for directing the Tokyo fixed-income sales team. He also managed the government and corporate bond portfolio for New York Life Insurance Company of Canada prior to its acquisition by Canada Life Assurance Company in 1994.

Chris has a BA in Economics from Trent University, an MBA from York University, a JD from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Chris is also an accomplished runner, having completed many marathons in Canada and abroad.
